Registration


PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES AND OUTCOMES:


The programme is one of self-empowerment and in simple modes through: story telling; group activities; song and music; drama and through silence, prayer and introspection makes you understand the Mind, it power and functions and the many techniques that can help you manage it… thereby helping you understand and experience your Self, your Divine nature and how to live in unity and harmony with humanity and the environment.


STRUCTURE:


The Programme consists of 10modules; each module is 3.5 hours duration. The modules will be held over 10 Saturdays, (over alternate Saturdays over 5 months) from 10h00 to 13h30. Participants on the Programme are expected to be proactively involved in their self-development and must undertake at least 7 tasks: 3 easy individual assignments, and 2 group tasks, that is, a song or drama, selfless service project and finally write a simple open book assessment. Certificates will be awarded to qualifying candidates on completion of the programme. Attendance of all modules is compulsory for the award of the Certificate.


CO-ORDINATORS AND FACILITATORS:


The Programme will be coordinated and facilitated by persons of sound character and professional standing with experience in implementing Education in Human Values. All Facilitators will have completed the Certificate in Human Values Programme except for presenters who offer a specialist/professional theme.


METHODOLOGY OF DELIVERY


The approach to training shall incorporate the core teaching techniques recommended for Education and Training in Ubuntu and Human Values, viz:

Story telling/ drama;

  • Group activities
  • Song and Music
  • Silence/ prayer/ quotations; and
  • Any other method that adds value to the Programme.


What is expected of candidates:

Attendance of all the modules for the full duration is compulsory for award of the Certificate.

  • Candidates will be required to participate in all individual and group tasks. These will include in- class as well as out of class group work/ assignments. This would entail work of a theoretical practical and experiential nature. Individual class participation is also encouraged.
  • All work will be compiled by candidates into a portfolio of evidence (POE/7th and Final Task).
  • Candidates will be encouraged to do additional reading to broaden their understanding of the Ubuntu and Human Values Programme.


The Course format


  • The Programme will comprise ten (10) modules.
  • The minimum interval between modules shall be 2 weeks and the maximum of 3 weeks.
  • The contact time for each module shall be a minimum of 3.5 hours hours.
  • DURATION: 3.5 Hours: 10h00 to 13h30 with 10 min comfort break.
  • PROGRAMME PRESENTATION ON-LINE ON ZOOM PLATFORM
  • PARTICIPANTS MUST HAVE ACCESS TO COMPUTER FACILITIES AND ZOOM

The Human Values Advocacy Group (HVAG) has been convened by Br Sathi Moodley to spearhead this campaign. HVAG offers Ubuntu and Human Values Programme in Values, Parenting and Organisational and Self Development. All Ubuntu and Human Values Programmes are offered gratis.
